Factorio city block design.

I started to work on a "Modular City Block" blueprint book. It consists of some "components" for my last city block base (defense segments, rail segments, power poles, roboports, solar) based on Nilaus 100x100 absolute grid aligned block video. It is far from complete or perfect but it helped me greatly in expanding my last base.

Factorio city block design. Things To Know About Factorio city block design.

I have a vision for a city block base for early/mid game. Basically it uses 100x50 tillable cells and 1-2 trains. I've experimented and this seems to perfect for what I want to do. I've come up with 2 templates for this. The first one uses 2 way tracks adjacent to one another with the cells offset. Every junction is a T junction.Generally speaking roundabouts have somewhat low throughput, so I'd go for 4 way intersections. The most efficient city block design I've used was brick wall design, solely using 3-way intersections. The network was designed for 1-4 trains but there also were 1-2 trains for high value materials. 4 tiles gap between rails as it can perfectly fit ... Jul 13, 2018 · Hi everyone. As my next experiment in Factorio, I've started a "City block" map. For this, I'd need to design a "block" blueprint. As far as I cannot find a perfect blueprint in https://factorioprints.com/ (I mean none that fits my needs / please me), I'm planning to build my own this week-end. 100 x 100 City Block Science. So I've been building a Train/City block map and only building inside my 100 x 100 grid blocks I've got every factory made to make everything and transfer by train. I've got a few hundred hours into the map and am running into the issue of science. I am having a hard time building a blueprint with beacons in the ... My design is simple, a highway surrounding 3x3 cells for the longer traffic. A penalty station at the entry and exit onto the 3x3 cells to prevent trains using it as a shortcut. Now I need a good place for my LTN depots. I use the design underneath which worked fine in the beginning of the world when it wasn't in blocks yet.

Help with LTN and city block design. First off, I would love to see your city block design for inspiration, LTN or no. I use LTN stations and city blocks - I'll request everything to a single station and unload into a warehouse, I then pull items out of the warehouse onto belts with filter loaders. All liquids are barreled.Typically a city block is expanded by one great bot network. Using bots to build everything from a distance. There's two huge drawbacks of city block bases: You are space constrained. Typically train networks are limited to 1-4-0 trains while on unconstrained bases 2-8-0 trains are very common

City block, easy to lay out and visualise where you want to construct things. Easy to have bots cover the whole area to bring items and construct everything. You can pretty much build a city block base from map mode. Some of you may already have seen it from the Reddit post made by Nilaus but I wanted to share my recently finished base here also. •I have spent 40 to 50 hours planning the base on paper. This includes Calculating ratios / Create design / Plan the base and the blocks.

By 12-chunk, for every block of my base, It will not receive materials and only output a very complex stuff like the circuits. If you look at the recipes, It will require a lot of space and machines to generate and process resources. I assumed 12 chunk sized block will suffice. So for a 4lane version it would be easier to start from scratch instead of upgrading this. Currently in use with 2-8 trains in a rail based mega factory containing over 1000 trains that has over 700 hours of play time and has launched over 1500 rockets.

City blocks range in size from 2 to 5 acres. The exact amount of acres in a city block, however, is dependent on what city is being referenced. An acre measures 208 feet by 208 feet, or 43,560 square feet, but city blocks vary in size depen...

What I did is create an intersection. Four adjacent intersections make a single city block. Adding two more directly adjacent will create another block. As the base becomes big enough, you approach 1 intersection per city block. Working on a blueprint rn, I turn on grid and made mine an internal build area of 4X4 Chunks (128 X128) and a rail perimeter of one chunk (32 x 32). With that in mind, I'd suggest using the "border chunks" for the rail lines. If you want a block that is 6x6, then design your rail network around that. Make that rail going around the block one big BP.

Roboports have 50 logistics range, so those work better on a 100x100 grid. But I agree chunk-aligned is just better and easier to integrate with other chunk-aligned blueprints (mostly rails). I'm using 128x128, because that gives me space to also fit train stations and a stacker within the cityblock. edit: here is a screenshot of my block design.

My schedules look like this: go to provider - iron plate and wait until full, go to requestor - iron plate and wait until empty, go to depot and wait idle 1 second. An extra blueprint with the station with enough overlap with the block blueprint that it can be easily and confidently placed makes it pretty straightforward to customize blocks according to how many stations are needed. You know there’s a sewer line leading to your property, but the exact location may be a mystery. All the indoor plumbing in your home runs to the main line, which then gets directed to either a septic tank or the city drainage system.

A lot of people will explain the "how" of building city block bases, but it's also important to understand the "why". The driving philosophy of city block bases is MODULARITY. In general, each block serves exactly one purpose: produce a singular output from one or more input products. Typically, imports and exports are done by rail.

The most important part of city block design is how the trains fit into it, then how the roboports fit in, electricity and radar coverage are easier to accommodate for. You want the smallest possible USABLE block because you can always make 1x2 or 2x2 super blocks by removing connections of what would have been multiple blocks. Take the one ...Details.
